It will also provide you with a way to form a quick, permanent, and well-respected group identity with which you can develop both spirit and pride. As an alumnus, it provides a place to come back to and reminisce with old and new friends for the rest of your life. Most importantly, membership can provide lasting memories and lifelong friendships that are formed and tightened through a bond of brotherhood. Also, studies on college campuses across the nation show that fraternity men are more likely to graduate than non-fraternity men.

- How old is Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity?
- Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity was founded on December 10, 1899 at the former City College in New York. The Eta Alpha Chapter was chartered on January 21st, 1987.
- Are there any famous Delta Sigma Phi members?
- Delta Sigma Phi is proud to have many members that have gone on to lead extraordinary and fascinating lives.
- How much time does it take to be in the Fraternity?
- The amount of time you wish to put in to the Fraternity depends on you. You are expected to attend weekly chapter meetings and to participate in various chapter events. It is understood that not everyone can attend every event, however you are encouraged to participate as much as possible. There are also other functions, such as socials, intramural sports, and study nights. You are also encouraged to participate in other campus and community organizations. The more you put into the Fraternity, the more you will get from it.
- What is "Rushing" and "Pledging"?
- Rushing is a series of events run by a fraternity in order to generate interest in the fraternity and give you a chance to see what life is like as a fraternity man. Rush events may include social outings, games/sports, and other various on and off-campus events.
Pledging is an 8-10 week process of being initiated into the fraternity. You will learn about our history, and the meaning behind our name and symbols. You will participate in various chapter functions, giving you the opportunity to determine if Delta Sigma Phi is right for you.
- What about my grades?
- Fraternities would not exist without a commitment to the university. Academics come first in our organization. Delta Sigma Phi makes this evident in the national accreditation standards for our chapters. We set an expectation for our organization to be at or above the All Campus Average.
- Will I be hazed?
- NO! Delta Sigma Phi, the state of Wisconsin, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering have strict rules against hazing and discrimination of any kind. As a values based organization, this kind of behavior contradicts our value of integrity and our mission – Better Men. Better Lives. You are encouraged to speak with the chapter President, Vice President, or Rush Educator if you feel uncomfortable at any point during your pledging process. You may also stop pledging at any time.
